You make a valid point. It's not an unamplified upright bass and therefore altered to some degree no matter what. It would be more accurate to say that between the characteristics of the electric bass and the amp that these are sufficient sound modifications without the additional modifications...

I find myself facing differences between the two 3/4 instruments I play alternately. I agree: muscle memory, side markers, adjusting on the fly all come into play. I think I just need to drive the 70min and spend some time with the instrument. Thanks again.

Steven Yes strings had crossed my mind. One bass is strung with nylon gut G D and nylon gut core steel wrapped A and E. The other is all 4 light gauge steel. I thought I'd see what was on the bass in question and take it from there. Good thought. Thanks.

Interesting. I've never played an acoustic bass guitar. That's a handsome Kay you have. I like mine a lot, the only reason I'm even interested in the 1/4 size Oh yes, always always amped. 200wt 1×15 Traynor is plenty for my purposes.
