You probably saw the “long horn” baritone. Type in JJ Single Cut Baritone... you’ll like it

Jerry Jones Bass 6 to Baritone

OP here... I’m surprised to see so many people mentioning the rarity of this guitar. I did some more google searching and I was only able to locate one other ever posted on the web. Interesting. I’m curious to know if anyone here has some more familiarity with it. I believe it dates to very...

Jerry Jones Bass 6 to Baritone

Thank you for all of your replies! Yes, a new nut, truss rod adjustment and baritone .68’s would be perfectly acceptable. And you’re right, who knows, I might just like it. Also, I’ll err on the side of caution and simply move this guitar along and not modify it. I really wanted the true 28”...

Jerry Jones Bass 6 to Baritone

In an ironic twist, and to further complicate the matter, I have a Danelectro ‘56 replica baritone. 24 frets, and 29.75” scale. It’s ok, not comfortable, not uncomfortable, just “right there” on the limits of hands and ability. Ugh.

Jerry Jones Bass 6 to Baritone

Hi Guys, I have a 1990’s Jerry Jones Bass 6 that was incorrectly labeled at the store and I now have my choice to keep it or return it for a refund. I would like to explore the idea of trying to convert it to a true Baritone. Is this possible? To my understanding, the JJB6 I have now has 24...

Can you convert an amp into a extension cabinet?

You guys are great! I’m putting together a plan and I’m going to make this happen. It will be an 8 ohm amp going into an 8 ohm extension cab. I’m going to play around with the different cutting aspects of the top and how to get the tolex to look decent. Truthfully, with the combo amp on top...

Can you convert an amp into a extension cabinet?

I thought of that, but I think I’ll be ok on that one. I wouldn’t be removing that much material. I’m actually wondering how the sound will be affected going from a sort of “active” to “passive” set up. That’s the risk though here!

Can you convert an amp into a extension cabinet?

That’s a really good idea! I suppose the tweeter will be in a different location but that’s nothing. And I would have to remove the rubber feet...big deal. The porting will be on the top now, but again, I think we would be splitting hairs here sound wise. I’m liking this idea, too! Another...

Can you convert an amp into a extension cabinet?

Thank you all for your replies. You guys are awesome and I appreciate your help! The amp is an 8 ohm amp, and it says the external speaker must be 8 ohms. So, it should be a doable. As far as the the end result, it should be the functional amp on top, and the modified amp below it...thusly...

Can you convert an amp into a extension cabinet?

I’m definitely NOT trying to make it look like a hack job. What I am trying to do is set another Strawberry Blonde amp on top of it, run a cable down from where it says “extension cab” and plug that in to the back of the modified amp...thus creating a micro stack with 2x10’s. I had not...

Can you convert an amp into a extension cabinet?

Hi all, Would you mind lending some advice? Can I remove the power amp section of an SWR Strawberry Blonde amplifier, chop the top so it’s flat, pull the speaker and re-route wires, and wire in a jack so it plugs in the back...and now it’s an extension cabinet? Would this even work?

Advice on this amp set-up...SWR over Eden

Hello all, I was curious about this set up and would appreciate your honest opinions. I own an SWR Strawberry Blonde which is an awesome amp! I play acoustic guitar, baritone acoustic and some light mandolin. I was thinking about placing the SB over the top of an extension cab...an 8 ohm Eden...

Can you explain bass amp, line input/output to me...

Thanks again for your responses. I’ve never quite understood 4ohm vs 8 ohm and I’m learning a lot today. I also appreciate those not saying “buy a new rig” or a bigger amp. I don’t have a ton of cash and for me, the idea of adding an extension cab/passive cabinet theoretically gives me low end...

Can you explain bass amp, line input/output to me...

Wow, you guys are great! Thank you so much for clarifying! I think my best bet in this situation is to find a 1x10 or 2x10 cabinet that is passive and is rated 8 ohm or higher. Does that sound about right? The SWR does have the ability to plug into an extension cab called the “Blonde on Blonde”...

Can you explain bass amp, line input/output to me...

Hi, This is my first post. I joined because of an unusual gear set up question. I’m an acoustic guitarist using SWR gear. I have a Strawberry Blonde amp, which as you probably know is an 80 watt amp that can handle all acoustic instruments. I’m looking to add a bit more power and bottom end...
