    Whats the new budget queen/king???

I love the ToneX. It has some delay/modulation, but I haven't used that as I haven't found a need. But the amp models are really great. There is a user library on their software that has a bunch of really good captures as well. I use the airstep TX and it makes changing presets much easier.

    Whats the new budget queen/king???

I don't use a lot of effects, mostly just amp/cab sim with tone shaping and compression. I love the ToneX one for that.

If You Were Doing A Gear Purge… How Would You Proceed.

the saddest thing to me about G&L was uniqueness being lost. They used their own pickups, hardware, and electronics. It's gone now and the chances of something filling that specific niche is slim-to-none.

5 string hollow body bridge question(s)

that bass looks stunning. In my opinion, the bass is just too solid/rigid overall. full hollow basses respond differently when they are built in the same was as an acoustic.

    Guitar humbucker sized bass pickups

The EMG HB pickups are incredible. if you don't mind active pickups, they sound great. They are in the bass in my profile pic. look up old school steinberger sound examples, as they use the same.

The cost of seeing my favorite bassists.

I never cheer for a divorce, but T-Swift needs to get butt-hurt and go after ticket master again so they can get these ticket prices under control.

When Do You Think You Are Overplaying?

Get the John Mayer trio live album. Listen to Pino's lines. He pretty much plays the perfect part the entire concert. Sometimes he is pretty busy, other times it's roots with tasteful parts thrown in. It doesn't have to be boring, but sometimes it will be. I played tuba in concert band. Not...

I have a set of jcs in the NS2000/5. The bridge is pretty low, likely because of the coil position. What could I expect if I flip the bridge pickup and get the coil closer to the neck?

    You Don’t Need Pro Tools

You explained well why I despise streaming of anything over owning physical media. I love my 4k blue rays and I love my CD 's. I'm struggling as I watch both get harder to find. Neck stability?

so indonesian is trash, chinese is flawless, gotcha. glad your exhaustive and extensive experience cleared this up for everyone. my LTD was from vietnam, and the EBMM from USA. What is your take on every bass neck out of those 2 countries?

    Neck stability?

i don't find bass origin, price, or perceived quality to have much to do with neck stability in regards to humidity fluctuations. it's all about that one piece of wood. i had an inexpensive LTD that moved like crazy. I also have a big al that is likely worth over $3k with premium woods, and...

Getting hum on a split pickup

that's a text book shielding issue. present in some environments, absent in others. the good news, it's a simple fix. our church has a massive light dimmer panel behind stage, it can smell out a poorly shielded instrument in the most humbling way.

Listening to more drummers than bass players. Is something wrong with me?

I prefer listening to a great drummer over a good bassist. But I love listening to players like Michael Manring. I tend more toward the rhythmic approach than the melodic approach, so a fondness for drumming is natural.
