As far as I can remember, way back when I first started playing bass, all combos had the control panel at the front. Why do some brands now put them on the rear edge of the top? It doesn't seem to make sense to me, as if you can see the control panel there, then the speaker must be firing at...

i was given a kasino u-200-2 solid state bass amp from my teacher because he didn't need it, but it doesn't turn on. I'll be able to check everything out tomorrow but just wanted some ideas for what it may be and what to look for.
