Is there some rationale behind some Fender bass cases from the 1960s having metal "Fender" badges mounted on the outside of the case while others didn't have this feature? The case for my 1965 Jazz Bass didn't have a badge when I bought it in 1977, and there is no evidence that a badge was ever...
