Why Do Some Vintage Fender Cases Have No Logo/Badge

Is there some rationale behind some Fender bass cases from the 1960s having metal "Fender" badges mounted on the outside of the case while others didn't have this feature?

The case for my 1965 Jazz Bass didn't have a badge when I bought it in 1977, and there is no evidence that a badge was ever mounted on the case. If one was there it left no screw holes or glue marks when it was removed.

I have a surf green Fender case with no logo but it has the tag inside.

My 65 case doesn't either.
My 64 doesn't either, but its blonde not black.

It was my understanding that the amp badge didn't get put on the outside of the case until 1966. As a CBS thing.
My 69 case had the logo with the swooping 'tail'.
My 72 had the logo, but no tail.

So yeah, your 65 shouldn't have a logo.
