    Necks Shimmed by the Factory? WTH?

    I just read that Ibanez uses neck join shims in the manufacturing of some basses. Is this really a thing? When I buy a new bass, certainly anything approaching or exceeding a thousand USD, I expect it to be designed and built well enough to not need a shim from the factory! Trust me, I am not...

    Elrick Expat series?

    Can someone give me some history on the expat series? Were they always made in Czech Republic? Is it similar to the Lakland Skyline concept? Where does Cort come into the picture? Quality similar to Euro Spectors? Anything else interesting?
