    Preamp pedal or no?

    Just wondering... I use Mesa 4x10 subway series cab with the subway D800 head. I was thinking about getting an external preamp pedal for my board, but would this be virtually useless as the sound engineer can connect his xlr right to my head directly in the back? I keep watching these vids of...
