Up for sale is this killer 1993 Sadowsky NYC Modern 5-24.
It’s got a solid ash body, beautiful quilted maple top with a 59 burst finish, maple neck and maple fretboard with some of the most beautiful Natural wear through the satin nitro.
The bass had a hardware upgrade from Gotoh to Hipshot at some point in its life. There are some plugged holes from the original bridge and string retainer, it’s not pretty but it just adds to the workhorse vibe this thing has.
The bass comes with the original EMG 40J pickups which are the initial design where the coil is slanted in the casing. It also comes with the currently installed EMG 40J set that I had custom made with the neck pickup coil being towards the neck side of the casing. This approximates a “P” position.
The Sadowsky preamp is set for Volume/Blend/VTC/Stacked Bass/Treble and a seperate bypass switch.
It weighs just over 9lbs, balances perfectly on a strap, sounds amazing and cuts through a mix like Sadowskys are known for.
Truss rod works great, action is a hair over 2/32 @ the 17th fret. Frets have no real wear on them, it looks like they were probably leveled at some point but still have years of life left in them.
