I really wanna learn to play the bass and thus want to buy one (a bass). Thing is, I am not sure what to go for.
Initially my plan was to get one that cost around $300 (¥30.000 - will be buying it in Japan since that's where I am) but after having spent 2 unsuccessful days searching for a good leftie bass at around ¥30k I realized, that I might have to shell out more in order to get a good leftie bass.
Another part of my reasoning for buying a more expensive bass is, that if/when I decide to sell it, I'll be able to sell it for more than a ¥30k bass. More as in 'closer to the new price'. I didn't come up with this idea myself (read it in some thread here) so I'm a bit in doubt if ¥100k ($1000) even counts as being "expensive" or not.
On the other hand, this will be my first bass, so in case I find out I don't like playing it, having bought the cheaper one won't result in such a bit loss (financially) as the expensive would UNLESS I sold the more expensive..... I'm not sure I'd be able to get anything for a ¥30k bass.
Ok, that was sort of confusing I think.
Another reason for buying the more expensive one would be the greater selection it offers. So far I haven't come across ANY ¥30k leftie basses (still looking though) where 100k ones are more common (though still rare).
So the question is, cheap or expensive?
I don't want you to make up my mind for me, just some pro/cons advice etc. would be nice.
