14 awg acceptable for monitors?

Going to buy some more speaker cables for use with monitors (maybe 200 watts at the most run to each.) 14 gauge ok?

It depends on the length of run. For an 8ohm load up to 25' it would be fine. If you need to go to 50', get 12AWG, if you need to go 80', get 10AWG.

Yes, but 12 gauge isn't that much more. Get the good stuff and be done with it. If your monitors have 1/4" jacks, get someone to convert them to Speakon NL4s.

16-guage would even be fine for that.

I don't get this obsession with 12 gauge and for heavens sakes 10 gauge for loads less than 500 watts
Crazy waste of copper to say the least
14 gauge wire is rated at 15 ampere I can't imagine you overloading it with a couple monitors
