15 string Bass Question

Are you sure it was an 18 string made by Warrior?
Yes.
You don't see too many of those around (kind of hard to forget).
The only other one I knew of, at the time, was the Modulus that was originally made years ago for Tom Peterson that eventually ended up with Allen Woody (I don't know where it is now) as shown here:

Oh, will you stop posting pics of your conversions!!!! Hahahaha!

Seriously...what if...?

I think Warrior made maybe a total of 5 or 6. There's a luthier in Russia(the company is called Shamray)that has made two that I know about.

Ibanez made one for Fieldy. I remember Fieldy's reaction when he saw a Warrior 15 he was blown away. And almost 10 years later Ibanez makes one for him and claimed that it was the first one ever made.

I actually owned one of the Warrior 15's. I bought it in 2001, and brought it to one of the Bass Gatherings that was held in Atlanta in 2001 or 2002. I sold the bass on Ebay in April of 2003. At the time I sold it I was young, stupid, and desperate for money, and therefore got hosed on the deal by the buyer. Believe I sold it for less than $2000. I wish that I could find the guy that I sold it to now so that I can either buy it back or punch him in the nose. I have looked for years online and never saw any mention of that bass again.

And yes, I have talked to Ebay and they do not have (or will not release) records of transactions from that many years ago.

Less than $2000. Wow I feel your pain. It might pop up one day or you could buy another one.

I got an 8 string (BEAD) last week and straight away I'm thinking of a 10...

I've had a Carlo Robelli 8 string for a long time and even though it's a cheapie, it has me not just thinking of a 10, but DESPERATELY wanting a 10. But prices are high and brands few and far between...

Of course the 15 string is the ultimate, but then I'd actually have to get serious about playing doubled or tripled course basses!

And what about strings? 8 string sets are pretty common, but a 15 string set? That's all special order, I presume.

There are so many good string companies out there compared even to what there was a few years ago. You could go thru BassStringsOnline and choose the exact gauges you want from many string manufacturers catalog... Jason there would be glad to help, too.

Circle K would also be good source and Skip is also a super helpful dude.

10 or 15 strings would sound awesome... Too bad getting a good bridge made would be the bulk of the instruments cost!

I use the 12 string (and 8 string) models in my Line 6 Variax 5 (so actually 15 and 10 string models) quite a bit. In my 3 piece it works great, either to fill the sonic spectrum, or if we are playing a song in a lowered key, the octaves bring the bass line out more. At church, if we don't have a keyboard player, the octaves fill out the overall sound better. Not the real thing, but great tones. The octaves in the models sound better than any octave above pedals I've tried so far, and I have a bunch.
