1931 Henderson Motorcycle

Yeah , those old stockers came qith around an 8.1 to 1 compression so a sporty with 13.1 would be a bit dangerous to say the least. Didn't notice the re tard thing till I read your post. Political correctness has truly gotten out of hand. Think I'll go edit that post. If talking about the mechanics of timing on an engine using proper terms that have been in use for over 100 years gets anyone that riled , they really need to take a mechanics course.
Is your shovelhead a conehead motor? If it is they have an automatic spark advance built in upon start up of the engine.

Yes. Cone motor. Well familiar with her internals. Done a lot on my own but she could use a rebuild and I don't have a scooter trash network here like I did before we moved. The one nearby shop that doesn't give you a confused look when you say Shovelhead doesn't want to take on a full rebuild. Kinda moot though, since I need to save up some dough anyway.

He must have eased off. Tridents were absurdly fast for the time, and didn't shake as bad as the twins. There's no comparison to a modern Triumph. A modern Triumph triple is a magic carpet.

That 1050 Triple I rode was sweet. The throttle takes some getting used to at low speed, but at driving speeds, the bike was buttah, as folks say around here about basses.;)

I don't know about sounding better. Different maybe. I love the rinnnng-a-dinnnng-ga-da-diiiiiiiiinnnnng of a two stroke. Plus, they weigh nothing. And the toxins they emit smell aromatically wonderful compared to plain old four stroke toxins.

The love for "the rinnnng-a-dinnnng-ga-da-diiiiiiiiinnnnng of a two stroke" is also still alive here.

It took a while before I dug up this 2004 picture of the 350cc 2 cylinder two stroke Jawa 644 that I drove then. It's a Czech bike.

Sort of a descendant of this one.

I had a provisional license on one of those, my dad lend his Jawa to me because he preferred his BMW R75/5. That way the two stroke still came out of the shed.

An older model in Russia, but similar in sound.
