1948 West German Meisel 9000 3/4 Ply

I had changed the availability of this bass because I had an”possible maybe” on a local non-TB sale, but to no avail. So it’s back and relisted at the price I had agreed to on the now-abandoned sale.

This Meisel is a workhorse and is in darn good condition for its age. Body is solid with no separations or breaks/repairs. Relatively new endpin was installed in 2014, other than that all hardware etc is original.

I have gigged this bass countless times in jazz and big band settings, and it has never failed to perform flawlessly. It’s got a K&K Double Big Twin pickup installed, typically run through a Radial BassBone for jazz gigs but also used plugged straight into either a MB CMD121P or a Roland KC-400 for the big band work ... sounded great whatever connection I used.

The bass will be sold with the K&K DBT, a Gollihur quiver, Ingles bass stand and a cover. The cover is really just a bag, I’d recommend getting something with a bit more padding if this bass is going to be transported (I use a Gollihur padded DB bag, works great!)

I don’t want to have to ship this thing, so local sale or I’ll meet halfway if the distance is reasonable.

This is a good, solid gigging bass that looks good, has a nice tone and has proven its worth time and time again.

Trades for a good, quality, ABG will be considered. Fretless 34” scale preferred …

PayPal is fine, shipping will be billed at the actual cost for the item. Heavy stuff (amps) or big bulk (upright basses) will be for pickup up only. I’ll work with the buyer for heavy/bulky items and travel a bit for delivery, if reasonably close to North Georgia.
