Got this amazing bass from a college senior. It took a long time to prepare the money, and it took a long time to persuade him because he didn't want to sell it.

The affection for this bass is so different that I thought it was an instrument that I would have forever. However, I need to sell this to someone who will love and play more.

Except for the refinish (MJT Aged Finishes) and a few peak guard screws, ALL original. It is in good condition because it is managed every day. It`s pre-CBS with Brazilian rosewood and sounds excellent. It has a warm and powerful sound that only old jazz can make. Original case and original ashtray bridge cover are included.

* Prefer local pickup, and you can play this at my house.

Unfortunately, the neck stamp is removed (quite common for old fenders). As I remember, it was 7 Sep or Oct of 1962.

If you want to check and ask this date via other parts,
1. The serial # is 78968, which means it was made in the mid-to-late `62 through the official site of Fender (How can I find out when my American-made instrument was manufactured?)

2. You can check the potentiometer. In the picture, it shows 304-6231. 304 is EIA code for Stackpole. (Commonly Seen EIA Codes). 6231 indicates that this potentiometer was created in the 31st week of 1962, maybe August (Reading Guitar Potentiometer Codes >> Vintage Guitar and Bass).

3. Also you can check the head logo. There are many characteristics on the head of the old fenders (从FENDER贝斯琴头看年代（1、VINTAGE）吉他中国★贝斯吉他中国―中文吉他世界尽在 Guitar China Dot Com ！).

4. Most of all, this bass was guaranteed and sold by TMA Pte Ltd at High Street, a famous Singaporean musical instrument company in the 1960s, and has been well managed for a long time since it was sold to my seniors.

When I bought this bass, I was very satisfied to see it and hear the sound. But I think there might be some concerns due to the nature of old fenders. I researched hard in my own way and I hope it helps.

I don't know exactly how the router hump determines the authenticity of the old fender. However, as far as I know, it has to show a grounded hump or flat line. My bass is slightly protruding and shows a flat line.

If you know more information, could you share it with us? Thank you for the nice question.

Honestly, it depends on the buyer's mind. Maybe you didn't like the color, or maybe you wanted to color it again like a new one because it came off. I can see a nice relic like other old fenders, but I cannot find any damage to its body.
