Original owner, Nitro-Lacquer re-finish to black from natural ash. Looks, sounds and plays great! Obviously not a collectors "all original/unmolested condition"(hence the asking price), but a Great player nontheless. Pickups have been switched out to Fender Custom Shop 60's, about 10 years ago. Included are the original grey bobbin 1974 pickup set, one works the other needs a rewind. All other electronics are original. New Fender replacement pickguard and thumb rest. No pickup covers. Frets are in very good condition. Weight- 10lbs. Hard shell case included. *Cosmetic Note*- There is a thin press mark type "scratch" on the back, about 5-6 in. long, not through color. This just happened last week, on my workbench, as I was setting up the bass...I tried to capture it in a photo.* Was $1850 + Shipping No Trades... Thanks... Now $ 1650 + Shipping

Wow, what a deal, even with the refinish. ... Is it payment plans and GC or what that has young players paying as much for a new copy of the original than buying the 'old' original? ... I wonder if Van Gogh had this problem? ... I already own a 1974 J-bass or I'd buy it. ... Does this bass have the brown coloured thumb rest and does the serial start in the 50's or 60's? ...
