SOLD

75 p-bass. All original except the thumb rest, it is dark brown and I would guess that it came with a black one, but the brown one looks to be very old as well. (*EDIT* I have been told that the thumb rest is original. Look down in the thread.)
The overall condition is very good however in full disclosure I will point out any imperfection. I am only the second owner of this bass, I got it from an 80-year-old lady who played if for years then put it up for about 20 years. This bass has been played. I tried to take picks of anything that I thought would help.

• 9.4 lb w/o pup and bridge covers.
• A-neck precisions are a bit of a rare breed. It has 1.5” jazz width nut.
• The body finish looks great, but does have some small dings on the back and bottom, very small and hard to photograph.
• The headstock had a few nicks near the end and the finish has tiny cracks all up and down it. It also has a spot missing the poly finish on the end. (see pictures)
• Frets are warn some, but plays great with no buzz at all.
• Strings are super old flats that have been on it for at least 15 years. No joke, this thing sounds like plugging in James Jamerson himself. Super thump
• Ships in original case. One of the 3 latches is broken, but case functions fine.
• Truss rod screw is almost flush, plenty of adjustment left.
• Serial number is 608281
• Neck heel code is hard to read but the last two numbers are 54= 1975, 4th week. The A is visible, meaning Jazz bass width at nut.
• Pots are clean and function without scratching.
• Pot codes- First is 1377438. 137=CTS brand, 74=1974 and 38=38th week.
• Pot codes- Second is hard to read, it has solder and a wire attached.
• Pickups are old grey bottom, coded 73774 & 74867 which means 1973 and 74

$1600 and we split the shipping costs. I’d prefer fee free payment if possible. Thanks.

I also have an 84 Precision for sale http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f126/fs-1984-fender-precision-mia-852905/

Great Bass!! Are there any cracks in the clear at the neck pocket or joint ? Pics would be good in that area. I love the 75s. I own the last one you sold. :D

I'll get some up tomorrow. I'm a big fan of the old fenders too. I can't stop buying them, and as new ones come in older ones have to go out.

No pictures of the 80 year old lady playing the bass....no old lady.

The brown thumb rest should be the original. The originals were kind of a translucent rootbeer color.

Thanks for the info. It looked the part but I was not sure. It even has a dip in it where a thumb sat for years!

This thing is in great condition; there is a '71 P-Bass that I'm trying to save from high school students who have brutally beaten it. Belt buckle rash, dings all over the head stock, gash in the neck (Cut my thumb on it while sliding once), almost more scratches on the finish then on the pick-guard, missing volume knob just a nub, broken tone pot, and the pick-up has slightly been pushed into the body. This is how it would look exactly if not for the abuse it has received.

Whomever is thinking of buying, I would highly recommend buying it. The tone and feel of the neck is beautiful.

I have a '72 with an "a" profile neck. It changed my life. I can't describe how good this neck feels. A buyer out there will be extremely pleased.
