For sale 1978 Fender Jazz Bass - PROJECT Vintage CBS Fullerton Era Mojo

Fabulous 78ish Fender Jazz Bass project up for sale. Bought with the intention of reassembling and rocking, but with 20+ basses on hand at any given point this project deserves to be with somebody who will actually give it some attention instead of somebody that just drools over its beauty (me)! Pickups are shown for reference only, but are not included.

The Good:
*Matching serial # body AND neck
*Seemingly original finish all around
*Original hardware (tuners, control plate, bushings, string tree, neck plate etc)
*Enough fret meat left for a level & crown
*The darkest most luscious rosewood you’ve ever seen
*No structural issues
*Gorgeous patina & mojo throughout
*Truss rod turns freely both ways
*Not a boat anchor (9 1/2lbs as pictured)
*Includes an Italian hardcase

The Bad:
*Somewhat Incomplete - missing original strap pins pickups pickguard screws wiring & bridge
*Well grooved frets, will need a level & crown at minimum

This is a $3,500+ bass if totally original as the rosewood necks are much harder to find in this era, plus you don’t need a back brace…it sure won’t cost you all that much to return it to 100% originality if you so desire, there’s GREAT bones here! All the important stuff is present, and fully functional! Sold as a project, as pictured, as is. Ships via UPS ground anywhere in the lower 48.
