This is a sweet vintage 1979 Ibanez Musician with upgraded EMG pickups and an Aguilar OBP-1 preamp. This thing is hott! Very loud and juicy. Bass has recently had frets redressed and new strings. Well worn with dings and scratches on body, as expected from a 45 year old bass. Comes with original case! I'm just mostly playing 5 so looking to lighten my collection.

In better physical shape than mine! I'd be interested in hearing the EMG's. These are wonderful playing basses with unsurpassed build quality and design but I find the stock pickups less rewarding than the ones in later Musicians.

Yea I agree. I'm actually getting cold feet about selling this bass because it sounds so much better than most of the basses I've owned, and I've owned quite a few over the years. When I got the bass refretted, the luthier commented on what an awesome sounding and unique piece it was. The EMG's and preamp give it a monstruous tone. The harmonics on this bass are unrivaled.
