For sale 1980 G&L L-1000

SCHWINGG!!! Going by the serial number, chrome plates and "big hex" polepieces, that's a late 1980 or very early 1981...might be alder body, too...hawt!!

I couldn't say for sure. I took a couple pics of a couple of the bigger dings and I can see some greenish color. Maybe it has been refinished?

I just aquired an L 1000 yesterday (my third G&L). I was told by the now previous owner it was an '81. Is there a way to verify that information? Thank you in advance for the assistance.

If you take the neck off there should be a date stamp on the neck and body

Do you see a serial number on the bridge? Maybe that'll tell us something too.

Well based on the serial number it's likely an 81, but as far as I know G&L serial numbers are not necessarily sequential so the only way to know for sure is to look at the date on the neck and body.
