50A6393E-80DD-48FD-89E5-5DA49891D629.jpeg 1987 3/4 Eberhard Meinel carved solid wood bass with Thomastik Spirocore strings bass stand and heavily padded bag. Fantastic shape, plays great and sounds wonderful. Lots of sustain. Includes an Underwood pickup. Used very lightly the past 5 years because of my arthritis which does not allow me to play anymore so I must sell it. It is too nice to be a room ornament.

Thanks for the reply. I'm a jazz (mostly pizz) player. I play a hybrid czech bass with Spiros. I think the bass sounds decent, but it's missing some treble that I hear in other basses from my favorite pro players. I'm wondering how much your bass projects the treble. Can a budget carved bass out perform the budget hybrid from around the same era for a decent jazz sound?

Tough to answer this question. I am not a jazz player, I used it playing Americana/ folk/ Bluegrass. I might be able to find a jazz player to demo it but not sure if that would help you. Where are you located? If you have any thoughts on how to get a demo of the sound, I am open to suggestions!
