So I picked up an RD 707 and was wondering what people think of this model. I've heard it's comparable to the modern Presige line(Made in Japan). Anybody have experience with this bass and info on the stock pickups?

1989 Ibanez RD707

It's not comparable to the Prestige series; hell, it wasn't the top of its line. Pickups were pretty much the same as any other passive Ibby P-J bass. I'm sure it plays great, though.
I own two of these, PMB. One of the two, used to be my #1 bass, back in the late '80s/early '90s. I wouldn't part with mine for anything. They are good players. It's not comparable with the modern, made in Japan, Prestige Ibanez though. They are much better than the rest of the current Ibanez basses, IMO. I can't tell you anything about the pick-ups. I replaced them with EMGs.
