Putting my Modulus Graphite TBX5 five-string bass up for sale.

Specs are as follows:

* 35" scale
* Lacewood top and back over Alder Body
* 9.28 pounds (4210g)
* Neck-thru graphite neck w/the KLD (1000 ladies dancing) pattern
* Gloss finish on back of neck
* Graphite nut
* 1 13/16" at the nut
* 2 13/16" at the 24th fret
* Black Hipshot Ultralite tuners (USA)
* Bartolini pickups
* Bartolini 3-Band 18v preamp (vol/bal/bass/treb/mid)
* Fully adjustable black ABM brass bridge
* Black Dunlop straploks
* Currently strung with DR Sunbeams (NLR5-40 / 40-120)

Will ship in a Modulus Graphite canvas gig bag-case.

The previous owner worked her over pretty good. There were scratches and dings throughout. Sent her to Pat Wilkins to do a refinish. Came out beautiful.

There was a slight bow in the neck (no truss rod). Had the good folks over at SF Guitarworks do a fretboard plane and refret/plek with mandolin frets. They also did a spectacular job. Neck is straight.

Trades are not being entertained currently (those pesky car repairs and medical bills call). But if you have a G. Gould GGJ5 bass (maple neck), I'd be willing to listen.

Ships free via FedEx Ground in the Continental U.S.

Feel free to ask any questions or for more pix.

Thanks for looking!

I never saw a tbx model that does not show the graphite on the back of the body !
Rare and sweet !!

Question : is it a phenolic fingerboard or is the fingerboard wood ?? Around this year Modulus started using more and more wood for the fingerboards ....

tbh, not exactly sure what wood fretboard is mounted on the neck. it's definitely not phenolic. i want to say rosewood but there are really dark/black striations in the fretboard that makes it kinda look like cocobolo. my basses with rosewood fretboards don't really have dark striations so i refrained from commenting on the fretboard material in my description in the ad above.

but it's definitely a wood fretboard.

Hey there!! I am the one that bought this from the eBay listing. I just got home from a gig (4 a.m) knowing it was waiting for me and just wanted to say thank you so much!!! I have been dreaming about owning one of these for a very long time, and couldn't have asked for a better example. It plays extremely well. It sounds so amazing. The sustain is out of control. I have relatives staying over so I couldn't turn it up beyond a very soft listening volume but I can't wait to wake up and have at it. Thank you so much for helping make this guys dream come true!!!
