1st Time Bass Guitar Build

Hey guys,

This is my first time build a bass guitar, I really want to make it a good one too! So if any of you could answer these questions that would be great!

What kind of wood should I use for the parts? I would like it to be light, but sturdy wood, even have a nice color if possible.
Where can I order different types of wood?
Where can I find an instructional video or more information on it?
What tools do I need?
What is the best type of body? I want it to be unique, I don't want it to look like every other bass; but if the classic body is the best then so be it!

If there is any other additional information I should know please inform me! I really appreciate it!

Thanks!!!

Right.

I suggest that you go through this forum for a couple of weeks, look at the other threads in 'Luthiers' Corner' and read, read, read.

Based on your post, I'm not sure you quite know what you want and you may not be in a position to start a build from scratch.

Often, the best place to start is buying a kit and assembling it. Some suggest buying a neck and building your own body. It might give you an insight into what you actually want.
