Up for sale is a 2006 Fender MIM Fretless Jazz Bass Standard serial number MZ6255XXX. I purchased this bass new in 2006.
Key information up front: in my teenage folly, I was interested in reliced instruments and with absolutely no knowledge of how to do so, or how poly finishes age (or more specifically, don’t), I tried to relic the bass. As a result, the finish is in poor shape as you can see. The G & D tuning keys are bent but completely functional. The strap buttons are missing. The truss rod works, but is getting tight.
Modifications include a black Allparts pick guard, Fender chrome pickup covers, a tug bar and an Audere Audio JZ3 preamp installed.
Weight on my bathroom scale is 9.8 lbs. The action on the bass is quite low and its s currently strung with DR Sunbeams 45-105. Included is the original white pick guard and passive controls.
This bass is perfect for someone who likes a small project.
