If I am not mistaken, I am the 3rd owner of this bass. It is a great bass but I do not see using it in live situations. To be honest, the F# (lowest pitched string) really throws me off. I'm hoping to be able to get a 7 string bass once this is sold. (CONUS SHIPPING ONLY)

Just out of curiosity, how do you approach playing an instrument like that? A lot of tapping, two hand technique? Just curious given that seven strings are usually the highest number of I usually see. (not counting 8 strings with 4 sets of 2).

Besides tapping and chords, many people that use high string counts (6+) prefer to play intervallicly in certain positions rather that scalar up and down the fretboard in a more traditional manner. There are of course tonal differences between the two as well. I recall long ago there was a thread on this topic in the Extended Range forum (which is now defunct).

Regardless, I had no idea Tobias ever made more than one of these! Super cool and I hope you find a reason to keep it :bassist:

I mainly was interested in the 3-4 not chording and also having a string that could reach a very low A-Bb.

Would you perhaps be interested in my Dmark Omega 6 string with Aguilar pickups? Perhaps the most beautiful instrument I have ever seen. It fits all your requirements. I believe it is one of a kind. Stunning wenge fretboard, tobacco wood neck, buckeye burl top on mahogany body. Gold hardware. I can send better pictures, which may do it better justice....
