There have been several questions around how the bass would be packaged and shipped.
I'll put it in an Ibanez gig bag (the last gig bag I have), bubble wrap that, bubble wrap the headstock some more and then pack it all tightly in a good cardboard box.

The bass is sporting Ernie Ball Regular Slinky strings. I must have tossed my set of Pressurewounds..

Worked well for me. This was my main bass in an outlaw country band. The B string got a lot of use and I never had any problems with it. Our sound guy never complained and neither did any of the FOH engineers I encountered.
