I bought this 2013 Gibson EB4 with the idea of modding it, but it plays and sounds so good I couldn't bring myself to replace anything, so I left it as I bought it. The bass weighs a comfortable 8.2 pounds. The push/pull pots (humbucking/single coil) and DeCola pickups make for a surprisingly versatile sound palette. Price includes shipping in Continental US. International shipping at cost.

(Adapted) online description with specs I found on Reverb: Offered only from 2013-2016, this discontinued iteration of the EB platform features a unique contoured offset body shape, a pair of Alnico V humbuckers designed by pickup specialist Jim DeCola with individual coil taps, and a Babicz Full Contact bridge.

Tonewoods include a swamp ash body with a satin-finished maple neck capped by a thick slab rosewood fretboard, notably lightweight at only 8lbs 3oz. This bass has plenty of natural resonance, with the midrange heft and note definition inherent in ash. The newly-designed humbuckers are wound hot, metering at 9.4k ohms in the neck position and a whopping 14.2k ohms at the bridge. These humbuckers offer rich thump, midrange growl and articulate treble grind. The push/pull coil taps on the two Volume controls enable single coil functionality for brighter sounds that have more upper midrange articulation, burp and cut. Engaging one of the coil taps (while leaving the other pickup in humbucker mode) is an excellent way to keep the sound fat, while providing additional clarity. This bass has been professionally setup 45-105 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and spot-on intonation.

The satin-finished maple neck has a slender D-shaped profile carve with generous shoulders and lightly rolled fretboard edges, measuring .800” deep at the 1st fret and .895” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features flawless medium jumbo fretwire, playing cleanly up the 34” scale with a straight neck and a responsive, optimally-adjusted truss rod. The nut measures 1 9/16” in width. On the headstock, the original Gotoh tuning machines turn smoothly and hold accurate pitch, with clean chrome plating.

All of the electronics function as intended, with Volume/Volume/Tone controls governing the humbucker pair, plus the coil taps at the Volume controls. The Babicz Patented Full Contact bridge is designed to deliver optimal sustain, with block saddles and pristine chrome plating. Plastics comprise the original trio of knobs and the four-ply tortoise pickguard.

The satin white (more like cream) finish is a thin application, exposing the grain of the swamp ash body. The bass has light cosmetic wear, typical of a bass with this style of finish. The smooth satin finish on the neck profile has been buffed to a semi-gloss through play, with a scant few shallow marks along the profile length.

The original Gibson USA-branded hardshell case with form-fit pink plush interior is included.

Please mark this as sold at the top. I just spent 30 minutes drooling over and researching this bass only to finally scroll to the comments at the bottom and see that it was gone. I'm not mad. I learned about a bass I didn't know much about. Looks and sounds awesome based on video reviews I watched. Cheers!
