    Not needed, unless one is of a particularly fragile nature. The whole point of the Balance K shape (and this variation) is even weight distribution. Unlike most other Alembic body shapes this one doesn't dive on the strap.

    This kind of weight is not unusual with this format of bass where you have front and back caps and multi-lams. It's still not as heavy as my custom Fodera Imperial (which also balances perfectly and is comfortable on long sets).

    Maybe my Rob Allen mb-2 might be more to your liking? :)

    Wow ! This bass is probably the sickest bass I’ve seen ! Wow who cares about 12lbs . Most of us weight over 150lbs and we worried about 12lbs . We probably put that weight on the holidays!! Just saying . GLWTS!
