This beauty came in the mail on Wednesday, brand new from the manufacturer. The strings are set a little high, and the intonation was slightly off on two strings at the 12th fret. But for a factory set-up, I was very pleasd with it. From headstock to strap button, the bass is gorgeous. It stays in tune VERY well. The tone and volume is consistent across the entire fret board (something my last bass had some struggles with). I haven't found a flaw in the fret work. The knobs are solid, the input jack is tight, the three point bridge is beefy, the wing sets are seemless. I know many people have had QC issues with Gibson basses, but I can't find a single error or blemish. I know some complain about the tone and versatility, which is more subjective. But by adjusting the two volumes and tone knobs and fiddling with my amp, I've been able to dial up anything I want to hear. Lovely bass, couldn't be more impressed with it. My two small complaints: The case is lovely, but could support the headstock better, and the generic Gibson strap it came with is absolute garbage. I was pleased though that they also sent a Gibson-specific multi-tool for making any adjustments or taking off any of the screws.
