210 + 212 Or Eden + Bergantino???

My main rig is an Eden Metro combo with an Eden XLT-410 extension cab. Basically, the Eden Metro combo has an XLT-210, so I'm running the Eden amp that came with the Metro with 610 speakers. I really like the sound I'm getting with it, but I'm really tired of carrying around almost 200 lbs of bass rig.

I want to go with a small rig I'll use most of the time, and a larger rig when I'm doing out door/ big stage set ups.

My proposal is this:
Small rig: Genz Benz Shuttle Max 9.2 with a Bergantino 4 ohm 212 cab. I already purchased the Shuttle Max 9.2. I just need the Bergantino cab which I already know I love.

Large rig: Keep the Eden Metro for my home studio, but on big gigs add the Bergantino 212 to the Eden Metro combo. It would give me a 210 + 212 rig. I know the Metro can take a 4ohm cab with its 210 already attached.

Side note: I'd probably sell my Eden XLT-410 just so I don't have too much equipment sitting around.

I was wondering if anyone has had experience with a 210 + 212 rig? If anyone has more specific experience with an Eden/Bergantino combination, that would be great too.

1) I doubt they're voiced similarly, which makes a bad match.
2) I doubt they're sized the same, which will make a crummy stack job.

Get wheels for your 410, would be my advice. ymmv of course.

In answer to a question from the Berg thread, the Hd112 stack sounds fat and punchy with a wonderful high end, but does not have the volume or out right low end ability of the Baer Ml112 stack.
How much volume do you actually need? 2 ML112's with a 900 watt head is brutally loud with huge low end, even one of these little beasts is awesome on its own.

Both Eden cabs have wheels. It's the lifting and size I can do without. As far as a stack job, they'd have to be side by side. The Bergantino 212 is a vertical cab, not horizontal. Even if I placed the Berg cab sideways, it still would be unstackable.

I'm more concerned for the big rig (Eden + Berg), if the two cabs would compliment each other or not. Bergantino had a cab a few years ago that had one 12 and two 10s; it was pretty popular. I realize that Eden and Bergantino are two different companies with two different styled cabs, but I figured I'd ask.

I"m not sure what you guys are talking about when you mention the ML112. I am looking to purchase the Bergantino HD212 cab. That's one cab with the two 12 inch speakers in it instead of two 112 cabs.

For most gigs, I know that the Genz Benz Shuttle Max 9.2 with the Bergantino HD212 cab will be enough. I play a lot of out door gigs (Florida), but all are with me going through the PA.

I was concerned about county fair like gigs, playing to 2,000-5,000 people (obviously through the PA too). I have those kinds of gigs 3 or 4 times a year. The "small rig" may be enough for that too from what I've heard of the Bergantino HD212 cab, so I could use feedback about that too.

2 things that pop out- first, the 210/212 pairing is not likely to be well balanced, and second, putting them side-by-side will most certainly cause alot of trouble to your sound out away from the stage. Whatever solution you find, look for matched cabs, and vertical stacking.

I gig three times a week with that setup (212XLT and 210XST) . . . both cabs are 4 ohm, which gives me 750 watts at 2 ohms out of the amp. It can get very loud and it's an excellent sounding system, and both cabs are easy to manage . . . Note: the bass on the right is gone and has been replaced by a 5 string 2010 Lakland Joe Osborn.

As a result of the replies I've received (and once again thanks for them), I'm probably going to keep the original rig I have (Eden Metro + XLT-410) as my big rig. I already have the Genz Benz Shuttle Max 9.2, and I'll add the Bergantino 4 ohm HD 212 cab to my 'collection' as my smaller rig.

That smaller rig will be so much easier to cart around with one of those Magna Carts I got at Home Depot and a bungie cord. The Berg 212 cab is still 77 lbs, but it is about 15- 20 lbs lighter than either the Metro or the XLT-410 cab. It would also be one smaller cab instead of two larger cabs.

I think I'm going to purchase the Bergantino HD212 today from Bass Central. They said they could have it drop shipped directely to me. Then I could actually try it with the Metro just for kicks. It probably won't be a good combo, but it won't kill me to try it. Then I can make decisions about whether or not to keep the XLT-410.
