240W SWR redhead bias pot?

[Hi All -- this is an amp-related electronics/repair question. Please advise if this should be in a different forum? The electronics one seemed more oriented to pickups than amps.]

Does anybody here have any exprience with adjusting the power stage bias pot in an older SWR redhead?

The schematics I have don't note any calibration voltages or procedures, or even the desired quiescent current in the output stage.

I did scope the amp on a quiet 1K sine wave, figuring I'd tweak the pot looking for crossover distortion. Unfortunately, one excursion of the pot was extreme enough to blow out a small signal transistor in the limiter circuit. So I thought I'd ask if anybody was aware of the procedure here before trying again... :)

thanks much,
