2nd Bass: Squier CV '50s, VM TB or VM Jag?

I think he said entry-level and then modified the request with 'variety' issues. That's why - and besides he set the boundaries in his choices 1,2, & 3.

Why not? If that's the only kind of bass that interests the OP, why should that matter?
Voted Jag . I love the versatility and the neck .
Was thinking about getting the vm tb but the neck was not for me , so I put a vm tb pickup in my jag.
Now I can have my cake and eat it too
How does that monster sound?
The mudbucker has a massive output and could easily drown the p&j , but I split the signal running the pj channel through my effectpedals and recombine the signal with my ls-2 so I can blend in how much of the mudbucker I want.

I Have The CV 50's P-bass Butterscotch blond and there is no 60 Hz Hum. Mine is very quiet. And it has far more than one trick in it. Maybe not as much variety of tone as the Jag but still plenty of them and a bit of grit to boot.
I got a Squier VM 70s jazz bass last year and it's superb. Satin neck, Duncan Designed (so, ok, not actually SD's) PUPs, natural finish. It's the mutts nuts. Set me back no more than 220 quid from my local shop in London. More expensive from online retailers now, I believe. Highly recommended. Obviously, better to try so you know you're not getting a duff one.
Voted VM tele bass because it is so awesome! Thick and punchy. I feel it cuts with the punch and fills with the thickness. And I don't worry about it getting clobbered as much because of the price. I roll off most of the tone and run through sealed 10's.
The VM Jag has been in my sights for a bit now. I am finishing up a tattoo this week, but next paycheck and I think I am pulling the trigger.
Just bought a Matt Freeman precision.....AWESOME. No fret buzz, no dead spots. came with a great setup and the intonation was perfect. Beautiful tone and great looks. This has better fret end finishing than most American standards I have handled (smooth as silk).
