2x12 Bass Cab speaker options parameters help

Hello TB! I'd like to ask a favor from you guys here.
I have a 2x12 bass cab with 2 separate enclosures in one, with different port sizes and volumes in each compartment.
I've been told if I get the dimensions I could get some tests done with the programs such as winmax etc and see what drivers would qualify or work well in the cabinet.
So I'm asking your guys help in this matter , for some suggested drivers based on the dimensions.
Top compartment is 12 1/2 T - 13 1/2 W and 10 inches deep. The 2 ports are flared upwards and are 5 inches long 2 inch wide.
The bottom compartment has 4 ports about 8 inches long 2 inch wide. 13 1/2 Wide , 14 inches deep. Can't get an exact height because of the top enclosure , but it opens up and goes all the way up the back and cab is 27 inches tall.

Could be homemade or 'shop-built'. Do you have the grill? Soundbridge -- a sort of lower-tier PA speaker builder -- had curved front grills similar to what it appears this one had, but I don't think their finish texture was even close to this aggressive. That looks like actual truck bedliner. Plus, it appears the ducted ports end much too close to the back wall.

TBH, I don't think this monstrosity is worth salvaging, but YMMV. I do notice that you've begun painting over the bedliner with a lovely blue color, so go get 'em!

Edit: AND... much, much too small to be an effective bass enclosure, IMO. The sub-chamber you could provide the complete dimensions for is only about one cubic foot BEFORE you deduct for the ports -- that one may have been intended for a mid-range driver. The larger compartment, using cocktail-napkin calculations, probably couldn't be much larger than about 1.5 cubic ft. -- again not deducting the volume of those questionable ducted ports. And again, I don't really think there's much point in investing anything in this enclosure if a bass cab is the intended use. Just IMHO, of course. :smug:

Wow, that’s no doubt a cluster-f of a design…

That’s a candidate for a complete re-porting to match an appropriate production driver.

Honestly, for a particle board cabinet, it’s not worth the effort. It will be money MUCH better spend finding a suitable used complete cabinet that you can listen to before spending your money.
 
It is 3/4 birch ply. I understand the design is confusing, however I'm trying to make it work.
I assume that sums up the amount help I will get from this thread.
 
The spattered paint on the inside makes it look like particle board, but no matter... it's a terrible design as it stands.

You could re-port the cabinet with 4 ports per driver (about the same 2" diameter as they are now) without that ridiculous porting monstrosity and it should end up pretty close for a pair of DeltaLite 2512's. You may be able to get away 3 x 2" diameter ports the thickness of the baffle (fill in the extra one) but they have to be the same per half of the enclosure.

Those aren't flaired ports, they are bent ports but because of the small diameter won't follow any of the math anyway due to excessive losses.

It's clear that this was at one time a wild idea gone wrong, no knowledgeable designer would go down that path for a variety of technical reasons.
 
I don't think I'm too confused about the design; the lower chamber is L-shaped and extends up behind the upper chamber, right? Maybe you could modify it by removing (or hacking away) the back wall of the upper chamber and fabricating a piece that would extend the lower wall of the upper chamber all the way to the back wall. This would make the two sub-chambers more or less equal in volume, yes? As @agedhorse suggests, a porting scheme could probably be devised that incorporates the existing port holes. The Deltalites would probably be a pretty good choice IMO.
 
Consider cutting multiple large holes in the divider and what I'll call the "false" back wall so that you have a single enclosure for two identical drivers. That should make port calculations a lot simpler. Just seal off any unused port holes through the baffle. Before gluing in new port tubes, be sure to do a "rice test" with the drivers installed to determine the actual port tuning frequency compared to your calculations and adjust port lengths as needed.

Not a bad idea I have done similar in the past using a large tank cutter leaving enough meat behind to act as bracing

@Ethix4 -- This is some of the best feedback you're doing to get on this cabinet (for free). Reminds me of plumbing in a basement I've seen before.
