2x12 Help

Hey

Im interested in getting a 2x12 cab...or two separate 1x12 cabs.

What is the performance like on the Aguilars? I have heard 'rumours' that they do not perform well at high volumes. The bass gets lost in the mix?

Ive only tried two DB1x12s and they sounded great at shop level.

I am currently also looking at Schroeder.

I cannot afford the Berg gear....the price is very high in the UK.

Any ideas? Aguilar reviews?

I would think Aguilar DB112s sound very good and cut through well as they are supposed to have quite a lot of mids.

Seeing as you're here in the UK I'd look into Barefaced Bass cabs. Very good designs and very well priced.

Yeah Ive considered a lot of cabs...and alex does do a good job on the barefaced cabs. I just wanted a 2x12 though ....

You might consider a stack of two epifani ps112s. They are fantastic sounding. really good. they are about 36LBS each and they are about $400usd brand new.

I am also quite happy with my UL112s1 stack. If I weren't such a weight weenie, I'd probably schlepp the extra 12LBS for the ps112s.

Obviously there is a small bias here...but the Genz NEO 212 really moves some air. Sounds great...and only weighs 50 lbs.

Never heard any complaints about the Aguilar's though...

I have 2, 8ohm Aguilar GS 2X12 cabs. I use one for smaller gigs, and two at larger ones... and I really like them. Not too heavy, very clear and warm sounding... I have never had the slightest problem with them. I play blues, blues-rock or country-rock, sometimes at very loud volumes... and they sound great.

The Genz Benz 212T NEOX is a performer! Light weight and awesome sound. It out performed all my expectations!

You can't go wrong with either the GB NeoX 212T or the Aguilar GS212. I have them both. The GB however, is a little cleaner sounding, IMO.

Yep! I have two Epifani UL112 and love them!
