2x15 - Plus a 2x12?

Hey, folks. I'm picking up a Mesa Boogie Diesel 2X15 cab this weekend. Though, the guy just mentioned he has a new Mesa 2x12 Powerhouse cab. I'm not that well versed in cab configurations but any opinions on a 2x15 + 2x12 pairing. I don't really need the 2x12 but he said he'd throw it in for a good price. Playing through a Mesa Boogie Bass 400.
Thanks

I would love to try the 2x15, 2x12 cab combo. I've been on the lookout for a Eden 215XLT to match my 212XLT.

Necessary? Not a bit. But you have to admit that would be an imposing stack!

I say go for it! If the 2x12 is a good price in a bundle package you might make a little profit reselling it on here if you don't like it.

I'm going to see if I can get a good deal on it. I was just thinking of a 2x15 with (2) 2x12's...DOOOOOOOM!
All depends on the price he gives me since I might be pickin' up a SUNN guitar amp too from a different dude. Nothin' like skippin' school and going around to check out amps! :bassist:

IF you do decide to go the multistack route, whatever you do DO NOT place your cabs on opposite sides of the stage. If you can, stack them on top of each other for optimal dispersion, and with the one with the lowest power handling closest to your ear so you can hear if it's striggling.

Oh, and wear earplugs. You have the majority of your life ahead of you and it would suck to have to live it with constant ringing in your ears

Pay attention to this. I know from experience. It does suck.

I've done the 15 and 12 stack a few times. All JBL K series drivers. I like it, but it's more than I need.
