If the bridge is wood and the saddles are wood then how do you ground the electronics to the strings the way a metal bridge does?

$300 bridge? Craigslist find

I like the idea. I don't currently have a bass I'd put it on, but it's a cool concept.
A wooden bridge would never work on a bass!

That bridge is a different design though. Being string through body I'd be willing to bet there are some sort of metal ferrules on the back side to accept the ball end of the string. Also the portion of the bridge where the string actually rests on appears to be some other material reminiscent of a nut (bone maybe?) I don't really know I've never played one so I can only guess as to the materials/construction. I just think that structurally those wooden saddles of the bridge from the craigslist post wouldn't hold up very well, especially if all of those adjustment screws are just threaded directly into the wood. If they are then adjustments would definitely need to be kept at a minimum to avoid stripping the wood. I'd hope that there would be some sort of helical insert installed first and that all hardware would thread through that. Again I'm not 100% sure on the design either just making some observations.
And the price was originally $300 the guy lowered it. As someone else stated he posted a thread on here about it and I didn't see it, otherwise I would have posted in that same thread.

1) You install internally grounded pickups like EMGs that don't require a bridge ground.
2) You use copper tape on the bridge where it touches the string and then ground to that spot.
3) You use the bridge on an acoustic bass only and ignore grounding.
A wooden bridge would never work on a bass!

That bass could never work! And, being the nice guy that I am, I will take it off your hands to save you from getting frustrated by having to look at a non-working bass. No charge!
