32" scale E to C set?

Rounds this time to start, thank you!
Do you have a preference for lighter or heavier gauges?
If you are not averse to making up a set from singles, D'addario do a medium scale 100 for E. You can then just use the long scales of your preference for ADGC. The XL bass C is restricted 032. You could use a regular long scale XL guitar string for C if you wanted to, which gives you more gauge choices NW034 and NW036. Just pop ferrule off a bass string on the git string to stop it pulling through the bridge hole or a small nut. Using just the medium scale E is kind of what Mezzo ships with, with D'addario 45-105 EXL165 long scales used for EADG and a medium scale XL130 tossed in. Winding length only matters for the thickest string

My bad. I was thinking Chrome flats with the 032 gauge limitation for C. The XL nickel rounds have an 035 Invalid Link Removed

The XL 100 medium scale code is XB100M [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

a set could look like this for example
E/100 medium scale
A/080 long scale
D/060 long scale
G/045 long scale
C/035 long scale
the tensions would look like this
XL nickels custom set EADGC

E/100/30lbf
A/080/35lbf
D/060/36lbf
G/045/37lbf
C/035/36lbf

I tend towards 105-45, but want a C string that isn't too much smaller/floppier than 45.

Getting a medium 45-105 set is not hard. But there aren't many brands that you can easily buy a single C without a bulk purchase. D'addario, GHS and Rotosound spring to mind regarding obtaining singles easily. An alternative would have been a 6 string set in medium scale and set aside the B. But I think Galli is the only brand with an 035 C in a six string set in long, medium and shortscale and thats in flatwound only. Other brands, typically have a 30 or less in their 6 string medium scale round wound and flatwound sets.
Another option is a Bass VI set bearing in mind the scale length is 30" but the winding lengths are much longer due to it being string thru. You set aside the high E, and tune the B to C. This set from Kalium has a winding length appropriate for the Mezzo, which is 35.5'ish from ball end to the B post. You can't just shorten a long scale for E and have no taper because with no taper it won't fit in the slot unless it was a 95 gauge or less Hybrid Bass VI .106″ Balanced Six String Set | Kalium Music The gauges for EADGC would be 106 79 59 43 33

Fender 250 Bass VI set has a winding length of 35" which is ideal for the Mezzo too if you could settle for a 100 gauge E but pickup a 34 for your C Invalid Link Removed
Newtone is def an option as posted, but being England based the postage cost to the U.S could be a factor in your deliberations
