35" scale 4 string basses?

Anyone ever see a 35" scale 4 string? Or own one?

I like tight string tension on a bass. I use heavy gauge strings. But I think it would be cool to use heavy gauge strings and a longer scale. Imagine the sustain!!

Lakland made a couple, literally. I think they were called the 4-94 XS. Only 2 were made, one red, and one black. Jason Scheff, of Chicago, owns the red one. I don't know who owns the back one.

It is a special order option on the Spector Euro series, but I know of no other company that does this.

Peavey G-bass and Cirrus models are 4 string and 35" scale.

35" used to be the standard scale length for all Elricks- you had to special order a four-string with a 34" scale. Only recently has it changed to where 34" is the standard scale on his four-strings.

If you can find one (they've been out of production for a while) the Schecter Diamond Series California Custom 4-strings were 35" scale.

The Yamaha TRB 4 is 35" and can be found pretty readily.

i think all the American made MTD's are 35" whether 4 or 5 string.
It should be a little harder to play but one could use a thinner string for a given tension and hence have a better tone I would think.
Would a 35" 4 stringer have better sustain than a 34" as someone said? Interesting.

They are pretty great basses but I found I didn't like the 35". If you like 35" maybe go test drive one? They are pretty common in Guitar Centers
