35" Scale 4-Strings?

The 4 string Peavey Grind Bass has a 35" scale according to this page. Of course, the page also says it has six strings. Maybe I can't count, but mine has only four. I haven't bothered to measure the string scale to see if it really is 35".

i wish they made more 35 inch scale 4 strings cause i hate to tune down but my band tunes down a whole step. my guitarist refuses to tune up to standard on account of his floyd rose. i hate 110 guage strings id rather have 100 or at least 105 and but the strings get to loose on my bass so i have to use 110.

Or switch to a 5-string. Another option is a HipShot Xtender, which lets you detune to drop-D tuning while maintaining decent tension on your strings.

I'm curious why you'd WANT to do this... After all, didn't the 35" scales rollout, as a mechanism for fixing B-String slop on 5-stringers?

Without the B string, there's no need.

Bad assumption on your part. While a lot of magazine articles focus on just the B string, some of us like the different string tension on the E, A D and G as well (I own a modulus Q4). I've loved some 34", 32" and 30.75" basses as well, but there always seems to be some extra fun with the 35".

Nice Yam Anthony (used to be mine )! I also have another one of my 35" 4 bangers for sale right now. My Peavey USA G bass (graphite neck, 35" scale) is up for grabs. 35" makes for tighter strings in drop or stepped down tuning. A lot of metal guys love 35" scale for this reason...

Yes, I've been watching your G-Bass. I had a Gv, and a G-Bass is on my T-Do list. Just too many deals going now. (As usual!) I DO enjoy the workout of a 35"!
