5 string bass and Country music

This thread for the win! Just checked out Dogs of Peace-love them!!

Jimmy Lee Sloas was one of my early favorites in the 90's, before he became a Country music A-lister. Dogs of Peace is still one of my favorites from that era. Pretty sure he was down-tuning then, but he also played a Modulus Quantum 5. Another (non-Country) Nashville guy that really turned me on to down-tuning was Tommy Sims. He mostly used a 70's Jazz bass for a lot of years, and just like Anthony Jackson did in the 70's before his Contra-bass conversion, he tuned down as low as he needed to get the job done on that bass.
