5 string EAGDC

Hello,
I'm planning to a get a fretless 5 stringer . Usually these are tuned BEADG. I was wondering is there any way I can fit the bass with EADGC strings ? Would I have to change its nut, bridge? And yes the bass would be a warwick rockbass.

I experimented with no adjustments at all.

When I determined I liked it, I had it professsionally set up.

Nothing like letting a pro do what they do best.
The bass went from good (80%) to great (99%).

The bass is a Modulus with no truss rod, otherwise I'm sure the setup would have yielded 100%.

I've done it many times. I've never had to do anything with the nut, just install the strings, tune and intonate.

My current 5er is strung that way, although this may not last much longer. I can't imagine needing to make any nut adjustments, they slots might be a little loose, but I would think that would be less of a problem than being to small. I would anticipate intonation and possibly a slight truss adjustment, and thats about it.

on a Stambaugh and had no issues.

to all the guys who have done it? wont all the strings be like extra loose as they thinner so wont they buzz or anything.
secondly warwicks have that two piece bridge would the strings fit properly in that?

There are no adjustments you would need to make at the bridge. Likewise, you can get away with the same nut when dropping gauges such as E-C from a B-G configuration, but I prefer to use a nut that is specifically cut for E-C strings. (Note: If you're nut is cut for E-C and you want to go up to a B-G you may experience issues) I've responded to your PM as well...please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks!

You might have to adjust the bridge if the B string on it does not have a taper core, as it would be held a decent length from the fretboard. If the rockbass has the real Warwick just-a-nut you will be able to easily adjust the action at the nut as well.
