5 String Fretless Technique.

I've tried high B as well, but I find C more useful. Guitar tuning is a different issue as it facilitates cording.

As for neck width, my first 5 was an extremely narrow Ibanez. I got my current 5 after several years playing double bass, so I was used to a bulkier neck by then.

For me (and like the OP) most difficulties I have with using 5s have to do with the right hand, not the left. That, along with the fact that I don't really like playing in the lowest registers too much, has lead me to go without the low B.

Ironic someone who plays double bass doesn't like the lows, too much.

I wonder if my situation with 4s was different, too because the first couple months I was playing on a 4 without a G, and due too laziness, didn't get one for a couple months. Then, after adding the G string, I soon switched to a Washburn 5 with a thick and wide neck where I first tried the high C. I thought about a 6 when I was in the market for that first 5, and found a nice Schecter with a neck that was close to the width of the Washburn 5, but haven't truly felt the desire for that 6th string yet. If I do, I know it will be back to the drawing board for adjusting, but am content with playing a 5. Now I'm playing an Ibanez SRA505, which has a thin neck that's not as wide as the Washburn, and I love it. When I want to exercise my hands more, I pull out the Washburn (it has higher action, too, so helps building strength in my left fingers).

Thanks guys. The bass is a MTD Kingston. The bass of the neck is really wide.
Using my pinky on the B for reference has helped a lot. Last night I lowered the action way down and set the intonation. I seriously can't put this thing down. The G is getting easier to reach.

Just for the BEADG vs. EADGC argument. I want the B string so I can play D E in the middle of the fretboard.
