5 String Medium Scale Strings

As you likely already know since you’re asking, you won’t find many medium scale 5-string sets out there. I’ll chime in because I’ve had good luck with D’Addario XL singles on my Eastwood Sidejack Bass VI, which requires medium scale strings for the biggest two which I tune to B0 (.130) and E1 (.100). Standard strings work for the rest. I order mine through Fret Nation. Jason at Fret Nation has to have the medium scale .100s made to order by D’Addario, so you want to plan ahead by at least a week if you need one by a certain time.

Jason would be a good one to ask, now that I think about it.

if it's a top load bridge, DR short scale sets work. I've run Sunbeams on many 32" 5 strings.

Contact MTD. They have medium length roundwounds. They carry them because they care 32” basses.
