5 string octaver guitar nut

so i have this crappy, beat up black strat knockoff with a broken nut to where the low E doesn’t go on there, and i was wondering if i could convert it into a 5 string guitar (EADGB in standard, í never use the high e) with a new bridge and use an octave down pedal so i can use it as a bass and guitar
problem is i can’t find any 5 string bridges that arent for bass, so if anyone has links or advice that would be much appreciated

My only suggestion is to use a solo style individual bridge.

You could try single bridges, like this one: ABM Single Guitar bridge, but that would require you to fill the trem hole.

The main question is is it a hardtail or tremolo? If it’s a hardtail then any of the single string bridges or the ones Alban posted would work. If it’s got a trem you’ll need to do something with the route under the bridge. You could fill it with wood. You might be able to cover it with an aluminum or brass plate and mount the bridge to the plate, I’m not sure what that would do for the tone and you’ll probably have to shim the neck. The other option would be to pick 5 of the 6 saddles you currently have and use those.

probably hardtail, my guitarist has told me horror stories of his trem (like our last gig where he had to speed home because his string broke) and i am constantly changing tuning

makes a LOT more sense that way; i was going to advise that you do so if not.

now, i suggest you go with individual (per string) bridge/saddle combos so you can adjust the string spacing to your taste.

In that case my first choice would probably be the Hipshot single string bridges or, possibly, one of the less expensive alternates. They’re a bit more fiddly to install correctly but you can set the string spacing you want. You might check the string spacing on the other bridges listed to see if it’s something you can work with.
