5 string SCN Jazz Bass Pickups

Correct - too wide. Routing would be required. I know some people have replaced their SX pickups, but the only time I ever did was with a set of DiMarzio Ultra Jazz 5, those were a direct fit in my 5-string SX I had at the time. Ultimately, I went back to the stock pickups after about 3 months, but anywhoo...Here's a link that will give you some dimensions to try and stick to on your search: http://www.bestbassgear.com/dimarzio-ultra-jazz-5-pickups.htm I just wish all pickup manufacturers would collectively go with a common unit of measurement like millimeters or something, all the conversion stuff gives me a headache. :spit:

No idea what they'd charge - but I'd be more concerned with the pole pieces of the magnets being considerably wider apart than the pole pieces on the SX stock pickups. IME, you can be a fair amount off-center of the poles and still maintain good string-to-string volume balance, but if your string(s) get very far off-center of the poles it will start to be noticeable. Might want to hold the SCN's under the strings to see just how far off-center the poles will be before committing to routing & installation. Something like a bar-type internal blade magnet (along the lines of Bartolini, etc) might work out if the SCN's don't.
