5 string with high c?

I hate 5 string basses. I find no use for a low b string. However someone recently told me about a 5 string with a high c string. is there such thing and if so were can i get one?

just string it with a high C. I just buy a 6 string pack and put the low B's away or some places sell just the high C's

just get a 5 string bass and get a 6 string set and use EADGC.....dont use the B.

Just buy any old 5-string and string it up that way. New nut might be nice (especially when you know you'll never ever go back to BEADG) but probably not necessary.

Ah, good old Tenor tuning. You can buy the C string individually. Im not aware of any packs that sell with a High C instead of a B.

that's what i've done w/ my stingray5 for a long time. Love it.

As far as I know, there aren't any 5 string packs out there that come w/ a high C instead of the B...at least in my store chain. Maybe SOMEBODY sells em...who knows

I string both my Ritter and Celinder 5's w/a high C; no nut mods or new ones.

I string all my 5's with a high C. I've been doing that since the mid 80's. I usually buy a 4 string set of strings and then buy a matching high C. I've also never had to change the nut for any of them.

The original Fender Bass V was tuned E to C.

I have my Cirrus 5 strung up EADGC .. didn't need any nut work ... I love it that way.

Any five string can be strung EADGC or EADGB, Skipping the low B string. I've heard very few fivers with a nice solid articulate low B string. But plenty who do well with either high C or B which is same as guitar for 5th string.

I'd like to go E-C for jazz gigs. You generally don't need/use anything below E, and the extra range is kind of nice for solos. Then again, for the things where I'd like the high range for solos (Yellowjackets, Spyro Gyra, etc) I also like (need?) the extended low range as well. Makes me want to get a 6 and have it all.

I have my 5er set up with a high C, my shop just sorts me out a 6er set without the low B for the price of a 5er set. Worked a treat.
