50 W + Tube amp ?

Sup guys !

I would like to buy a new amp. I got a 15W Marshall and I want something better.
I would like to have a tube amp, 50 W or more.

Suggestions ?

Ps: Yes i'm gonna try them. I just want to know which ones should i try.

I don't think anyone still makes tube bass combos. Trace Elliot among many, many others have made them in the past. Mesa Buster 210 comes to mind too. Traynor are well known for their tube bass amps.

A vintage Ampeg B15N flip-top is a great tube combo. It won't get loud and low for bass, but your options are limited among combo amps.

A '59 Fender Bassman reissue 4x10 combo is also an option, also not loud and low.

If you want some serious bass, get an Ampeg SVT 300w amp and a Bergantino NV610 cab. <---- not a combo

Reason I asked is Marshall 15W bass amps are an unknown. A 50W is what I'd consider bare minimum gigging power after gigging my '72 "bassman" with no drums and feeling like it would struggle in a full band.

There must be a Traynor YBA300 in a store or two by now.

Also, if you want to rock it with a full band, 50 watts is not gonna cut it. That's more of a home practice amp. What you want is 300 watts and alot more than a single spkr if you plan on really jamming. Besides, there's a whole range of bass amps that could be considered an upgrade from a 15 watt practice amp. Tons of 'em.

There's also tons of sub 300watt tube amps that are perfectly gig worthy.

But, you know, don't let the OP's wants sully your opinion of his needs. :rolleyes:

I realise that, as I've gigged a 200 watt tube head plenty, but the common 300+ watt amp suggestion was not meant as specifically for tube amps only, rather a generalization, as the op is looking for a 50 watt all tube combo, and didn't mention things like, what it'll be used for. Do you have a problem with me? Not sure why you'd jump on that particular answer, of the dozens I post every week. It's an open forum dude.
