$500 Budget - Best Direction to take

Long story short my quest for a solid rig has been changed due to unforeseen circumstances, my budget has now dropped to $500.

My original plan was to start with the very best cab I could afford. Best being made with care, quality materials, and what sound's good to me. Subjective I know. Get a solid head w/plan to upgrade later.

Now with only $500 I'm not sure what direction to go.

Cab only - I have a Fender M-80 head to use until I can afford something else
Used rig such as - [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
Combo - NO AMPEG. I've had two. Just not for me
Head - I have a Bassman 1x15 to use until I can buy something better

I'm new to the East Coast & don't know anyone. That said, I don't think I'll be gigging or joining a project very soon.

So… Suggestions please

Old Peavey combos, heads and cabinets are cheap and durable. And common. And heavy.

What cab were you planning on before your budget was cut? Can you find it used?

1. Traynor SB115
2. Fender Rumble 500 2x10
3. Carvin MB1515

The market here in Orlando is thin… I was originally looking at these possibilities:

TC RH450/RH750 w/RS212 cab
Aguilar TH500
Markbass BigBang 500 - MB LMIII
GK 101RBII - or another GK

I hadn't figured it out, only the MB stuff was available to try the last month. Now that my budget changed I was thinking a TC BG250.

Depends on what sound you like, but Hartke offers some pretty solid stuff at entry level prices. I've had my used HA3500 head for nearly 10 years and that thing is a beast!

How about a GK MB212, should be able to pick one up a used one for under that budget. I have one and it's fine for most things, only downside is it's a pain to add more spreakers.

Would at least get you up and running and save some money.

If it turns out not your thing, should be able to sell it off for the same money.

I used to have the amp version. Not a bad amp. Not highend but workable.

Zeus I recommend that before you make a decision you take a listen to the Fender 500v3 combo, along with any other amps you have the opportunity to plug into. And don't forget to enjoy your quest.
