6-string Jazz basses

Hey guys,

I’m kicking around the idea of picking up a 6-string Jazz-type bass.

I know these guys make them:
Xotic
Atelier Z
Performance

And there are some imports like from Bass Mods and Rondo/SX. But I’m more interested in something “upmarket.”

Am I missing some companies that make them? All of the three I know about seem to use 19 mm spacing, which is a touch wider than I was hoping for, though I probably can get used to it

Xotic and Aterlier Z were the first ones that came to my mind. (Edit: Bacchus is another one.)

Not too long ago, while going through inventories online, one of the music shops in Japan had a nice Xotic XJ-1T 6 in a purple finish but someone had already bought it.

You can try custom builders too but they will likely be significantly more expensive.

Hey, I was looking through the Maruszczyk website and remembered this thread on different companies offering 6-string Jazz basses. Their model is called Elwood. I love to design creations on their custom configurator.

Dr Bass in Spain has 4 of them in stock priced between 1750€ - 1850€.

For US, I believe FretSpot is a Maruszczyk dealer. Donovan should be able to help you design a great instrument.
